Which is right for me?

Counselling or therapeutic coaching

Not sure which you need? We'll decide together in your free consultation — many people move between the two.

Counselling

Understanding what's beneath

A reflective space to explore feelings, history and patterns — often where the past is still affecting the present.

  • Explores past and present
  • Focus on emotions and meaning
  • Open-ended or longer-term
  • Helpful for anxiety, grief, trauma, low mood

Best if you need to be heard and understood before anything changes.

Therapeutic Coaching

Moving towards what's next

A forward-focused blend of therapeutic insight and practical action, bridging where you are and where you want to be.

  • Focused on the here and now
  • Goal and action oriented
  • Usually shorter-term
  • Helpful for confidence, direction, transitions

Best if you broadly know yourself and want momentum and accountability.

Specialism

Neurodiversity-affirming counselling & coaching

You are not a problem to be solved. For neurodivergent individuals and couples, I offer a space where your wiring is understood rather than corrected — building practical strategies alongside real self-compassion.

In couples work, differences in communication and processing can quietly become conflict. Together we make those differences visible, so each of you can be heard.

  • Masking

The cost of camouflaging, and what unmasking safely can look like.

  • Emotional Regulation

Practical, body-aware strategies for overwhelm and shutdown.

  • Relationships

Neurodivergent couples: translating needs across different wiring.

  • Identity

Late diagnosis, self-understanding and rewriting an old story.

How Therapy Works

A simple, unhurried path

Reaching out is often the hardest part. Here's exactly what happens next.

  1. Free 15-Minute Telephone or Video Chat

A relaxed phone or video call. No pressure, no commitment — just a chance to see how it feels to talk to me.

  2. Initial Assessment

Our first full session. We explore what brings you here, what you'd like to be different, and how we'll work together.

  3. Regular Sessions

Weekly 50-minute sessions, face-to-face in Heathfield or online. Consistent, confidential and led by what you need.

  4. Working Towards Your Goals

We review progress together, adapt as things shift, and finish when you feel ready — with more clarity than you arrived with.

Client Experiences

Words from people I've worked with

Shared anonymously with permission, to protect confidentiality.

Lisa made me feel safe from the very first call. For the first time I didn't have to explain myself twice — she just understood.

Client, Heathfield

Anxiety & self-esteem

After my late ADHD diagnosis I felt lost. Working with Lisa helped me stop fighting my brain and start working with it.

Client, Uckfield

ADHD & emotional regulation

We came in barely speaking. Lisa helped us hear what was actually being said underneath the arguments.

My daughter looked forward to her sessions. Warm, patient and never patronising — exactly what a teenager needs.
